installing php as nsapi on iplanet 4.0

I have gone through the step by step instructions on how to do this yet I can not get the webserver started.. when I uncomment these lines in the obj.conf file the webserver will not start.

Init fn="load-modules" funcs="php4 init,php4 close,php4 execute,php4 auth trans"
shlib="c:\php\sapi\php4nsapi.dll"
Init fn="php4 init" errorString="Failed to initialise PHP!"

i have never used iplanet before, but if you can specify directives to handle specific mimetypes and file extension you must tell the server to handle php files with php.exe
