max() and min() in where-clause

is it possible to use max() and min() -functions in where clause?

e.g.

where max(column) > 500000 and min(column) < 20000

I don't know anything about min or max in SQL syntax, but I can guess that it would depend on what your using for a database. Some db's might support min/max, and some will not.

Sorry for such a general answer, but it depends on your database software (Mysql, SQL, Oracle, etc). I don't think it has anything to do with php, but I could be wrong.

heh, what i meant was it doesnt work for me.... at least in mySQL... 🙁

so if there would be some way around the prob, how u could get that info

Max and Min are supported in MySql. Unfortunately I'm not really sure on the syntax, but you can check this link out ... it might help..

Search for max and min. There are some examples on that page.
