sending mail

I am using php 4 on IIS5 and using a script to deliver mail from a web page. I have altered the php.ini to point to my smtp server (exchange 2000), alas no mail is sent. I receive no code error and I have enabled logging, there is no errors in the NT logs either.

Please advise if there is any issues using Exchange as the smtp server

You might be trying to send too many headers, like html, which doesn't work with older versions of php4 and Windows. Try using 4.3 it's supposed to fix the problem so you can use all the headers with Windows. Here's a link to more information on this.
http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.mail.php. And no this isn't a read the manual post, this link tells you which headers are available in pre 4.3 and 4.3.

I just had exactly the same problem. I followed the advice message "Example: Authenticating via Exchange Server" in the Windows Help Forum and the mail function is working now. I wasn't authenticating.
