Auto delete entry after 14 days

This is something that interests me and I was wondering if any of you have any ideas how I would do it.

A user enters there name and gets stored my sql all o.k
The date and time also gets inserted to my sql all .ok

I would like the entry to be deleted after say 14 days, are there any functions in php that can do this?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Sure, just run a cron job every night that runs a query that delets all records that have a date earlier than todays date - 14days.

But why not just change your SQL queries to only look for records made in the last 14 days? Or at least archive the records in case you need them again some time.

yeah, in the same vein, you may find it useful to add a tinyint(1) column called delete. 1 is deleted and NULL or 0 or whatever is it is valid. This way, you may be able to measure some interesting statistics... You would still need to run a cron job, but instead of actually deleting them, you mark them as deleted.
