PPP server

I want to set up a dialin access server as a gateway to my cable modem network.
Any ideas for OS (Linux(flavor?), UNIX(flavor?),win or mac?
Can you point me in the right direction?

Pretty much any Linux distribution should do; install pppd. Search the net for LINUX PPP HOWTO.
