I wanted to make a queried PDF file be run and shown by Acrobat Reader its own rather than be shown within an IE browser frame. How can I do that? Thanks in advance.

You should create a link to that pdf file then, when a user click on it, IE automatically shows the document...

Yes! That's what I have done now. But how the document be shown in another window running by the application directly? I don't want it be shown in the same window running by IE.

If you want it runs in another window you should write target=_blank, while if you want Acrobat to start... sorry but I don't know how do it.

I think this depend of the configuration
of the client browser, so out of your reach.

Or asking people, not to just click on the
hyperlink (pointing to a PDF file), but to
SHIFT-click instead, for getting the usual
contextual menu, with "Save As ..." etc.

Not a good answer I'm afraid ...
