display data in form field

I have a form, in which i call data to be the value of the form fields. however, i cant see to call the data and set the value for a Textarea. it works fine for a input text box.

what am i doing wrong???

<textarea name="story" cols="50" rows="50" value="<? echo $row->story; ?>"></textarea>

how can i get it to echo the data inside a textarea ??😕

The <textarea> tag has no "value" attribute. You'll need to do something like this:

<textarea name="story" cols="50" rows="50"><? echo $row->story; ?></textarea>
