    TREKKIE! Run everybody!!

    😉

Wonder how many people are going to claim to be the best. Maybe we should put together a contest. I've been wanting to run one involving Ming.

apparently someone has been spending time learning Counter Strike Linguo 😃

          6 days later

I have always been interested in mathematics, and have always been in the top 0.0005% in competition. I placed 800 on Sat I, 800 Sat II Math IIC, 36 on ACT, perfect scores all around. I know over 20 programming languages. I know over 20 operating systems. Assembly is my favorite language genre. I received a full tuition scholarship to the local University for computer science, where I was a member of the team that lead the United States into international programming competition. And I'm a nice guy.

            math sucks  lol

              IWS:

I went to lazy8solutions and got nothing.

I went to IWS.com and got
              Integrated Waste Solutions....

all of your credentials have made you one fancy janitor...
              err hygenic engineer
              teehee

I vote myself for the worst!!!

Reason: The more deep I get in the ocean, the darker it becomes. First the knowledge increases exponentially, then the rate starts falling down as the light decreases. The one who can get to the bottom of Marina Trench will be the best.
In my opinion that day will never come for any programmer, the more one learns, even more remains to be learnt and explored.

I hope you folks have heard of this:
A bird about to be born, sees the eggshell, and think this is the size of the world. When the egg hatches, she thinks her nest is the size of the world. When wings develop and she starts to fly for short distances, she things this should be the size of the world. But when she matures, she realizes the the world is very big.

Hence, in my opinion, its not about the best programmer on the forum, we should start for the worst one!
Ones who still feel the need for this one are simply 'kids'.

Any competitors against me for the worst programmer of the forum 😉

                <Self Edit>
                1) I forgot to mention then when one is going deep in Marina Trench, one is not taking any external light sources/help.
                2) I will like to mention that I do not intend to hurt anyone's feeelings with all I said. If they were hurt, I am sorry!!!
                </Self Edit>

Well jayant I aggree with what you said. I take knowledge like I take judo wrestling (my sport), after having all the balck belt degrees and having mastered all the technics you go back to the white belt because you realize you know nothing (the advanced age at which this happens and alzeimer may explain a lot but...)

...and I think that if someone got his/her feelings hurt it's showing a lack of maturity because whatever you do, whatever you say the beauty of our line of business and what's keeping us sharp until advanced ages is that we always have to learn 🙂

I've been using PHP for more than 3 months now and I still don't even know what PHP stands for 😕 lol 😃

PHP stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor.

                      Note: Intentionally recursive.

I would not claim to be the best programmer any where, except at my high school.

actually, it's Personal Home Page tools.
You can find the original release archived at google newsgroups.

Where does this hypertext preprocessor thing keep popping up?

accaully jeremuck, Personal Home Page was the first thing they called it, then they renamed it to HyperText Preprocessor 😉...well, it came to be known as HyperText Preprocessor.

cool, my book says php came out in 1994 though 🙁 lol

                              hehe how about that.
                              that's a head scratcher, ain't it?

well people, some of u claim to be worse, well i claim to be worser 😃

I'm the worst programmer here, to start with my math just stinks, and without good match u won't be able to program.

Heck i dun even program, i just copy some script, wich i try to figure out how it works, and then after a few weeks when i found out.. i will try to modify it, and i will have to start over since what i first thought i understand, i don't understand.

Hmm yes indeed some 1337 language there... u know there are scripts for that... it's that i'm to lazy to get it..else i would use it.. but writing in it requires me to think.. and heck.. since i'm the worst i even have problems with thinking. 🆒

So if we list the qualities of a "good" programmer" then we can easily compare apples to crappy apples LOL

                                  Good programmers need:
                                  1. Logic (of which I have very little by default, being more easily run by heart than head)
                                  2. Attention to detail (of which I am horrible, being more one to see the bigger picture)
                                  3. Good math skills (of which I used to have - tested out of calculus in college - but now I can't figure out a tip at a restaurant)

I guess I'm in the running for worst, then, eh? 😃
But I do make a mean Rice Krispie Treat.

                                  -Elizabeth

Well, then, all is forgiven. 😃 Rice Krispy Treats fix everything!

                                    1. Logic? I am four, I think. There.

                                    2. Hmmm... Attention to detail? Yeah, I saw what's his name give a lecture about this at that one big conference a couple of months ago. I can't remember where, though.

                                    3. Good math skills -- Hah! Piece of cake!

I think I have this one nailed. I am the best programmer.
