installed mysql now how to make it work with php

okay i didn't know whether to post this is newbies, install or database but i presume its fairly newbish so i posted it here:

as the title says i just downloaded mysql and its workin great though dos 9seeing i learnt the language in a few days). I am not using any admin software i'm just workin for dos. now how can i start using databases in php?? can anyone point me into the right direction??? thx a lot.

check mysql's configuration in the php.ini
then I think you've only to call mysql functions in PHP code.

if u want to use mysql trough php u will need a server to like apache or something..

u could install a package like

phpdev

yes 🙂 but if u use mysql... in dos it's not required to have the other thingies installed... or am i wrong about that ? if yes i will delete my other post :o

ow yes jane, a search in google or something similar about mysql/php tutorials will give u at least the start basic for ur database. Like filling,showing,editing,deleting ur database trough php
