Php includes are not working !!!!

Hi All,

I have been trying to make it work but everything seems like not working for me so I thought that I should ask for help from PHP gurus.

Well, I'm trying to set up a DHTML menu from http://www.milonic.co.uk/menu/ and what I did that i made one header.html and one footer.html and I tried to use PHP includes so for future I don't have to worry about my navigation and I can edit or maintain my site easily. Now I'm not sure what causing this problem but some how my header is coming fine but footer.html is messing it up so I got stuck to the point that if its JS file of menu or is it includes but I tried SSI too and same results.

Now I don't know for some reason Footer is going behind the menu and not showing up on the bottom of the page. I'm going to post both of the index files and also header and footer.html links so please have a look and see if there is any fix?

My index.php

<?php include("header.html") ?>

<?php include("footer.html") ?>

I hope I will get some fix for this.

Sounds to me that you have an error on the page somewhere.

What I would suggest is creating a test page without the includes (they are not the problem), but with the contents of the header and footer files IN the test page.

Play around with that until it works and then and only then recreate the header and footer files with the working html and try it again.

Probably something to do with html tags not being closed or table tags being wrong or some such.

Have you set the include path? The problem could be that the includes require a specific directory.

Try This:

If you chaps reread the above you may come to the same impression as I do. The probem IS NOT that the include statement is not working but that the included html is not appearing as the poster wants it to.

Hopefully the original poster will reply and clarify this.
