Include File Errors

I get the following message every so often when I try to view my pages on my site. The only include files I have are my config files.

Warning: Failed opening '/www/willhoge.com/docs/index.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0

This doesn't happen all of the time and it's a bit confusing.

Any help?

include("some_file.inc") - include file from HTTP dir
include(some_file.inc) - include file from PHP dir

I'm not sure I follow you on this one.

I'm new to PHP and this is the first site I've built using it.

What do you mean by posting to the HTTP and PHP directory?

exemple:
/site/ - is you site based directory
/php/ - is you php based directory

include(somefile.inc) = /php/lib/somefile.inc
include("somefile.inc") = /site/somefile.inc
