Polling system!

I'm making a voting system, but there's just one thing that I'm concerned about; Updating the database.

This is a part of the code. I've left out all error messages to shorten it down.

Understand that I do not know what the db structure you are using is so I may be way off-base here but...

The way I would do it is to include an id field in each table (id int auto_increment, primary key(id)). Then when a poll or answer is to be updated, provide the relevent id such that you can update only the changed row.

I get the feeling that this is not even going to be on the same level as you are on, but if you post your table structure and give some more contextual information, I can help a lot more effectively. (And dumping CREATE TABLE syntax is fine by me)

I think I've solved it, thanks to you... I had forgotten the id field in the answers table! :p
