I know that the new variable is $_POST, but my question is:
Will $HTTP_POST_VARS work on the newer versions of PHP?
Yes. For a while. Depending on your host. Don't count on it - your code will be broken soon. Best just get used to $POST, $GET and so forth, because if you don't, in a year or two, you'll have to rewrite everything if you want it to work.
