How to resize image?

I was wondering how to go about (if possible) resizing the actual size of an image. Someone uploads a 640x480 image via a form. Want to re-save that as a 256x192 image...To reduce the size and improve appearance of the image. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The closest thing I can find is the ImageCopyResize...But the description isnt very thourough, so Im not sure how to use it.

I would highly suggest you take a look at the convert utility contained in the ImageMagick package.
