Using includes for external pages/sites?

Hi all,

Just a bit of advice.
Is it safe to use an include function to pull a page/file from another website?
Would the standard include function be secure?

<? include('http://www.domainname.com/file.inc.php'); ?>

It would not be insecure, but you would want error checking on it in case the remote file cannot be accessed, then you don't have a big ole error on your page which then might create a security issue for you.
