Could you tell me about the settings of mysql in order to mysql_connect() function establish a connection.

I mean the configuration of the database because i am experiencing some problems regarding connection to database

Well, as lurious pointed out, you are missing a username and password in the mysql_connect() command.

I suggest you read the manual about mysql_connect() first.

I have not yet configure my mysql, like privileges, usernames and password, i have already installed it.
How can access it when there is no pass?
the default username is root@localhost

Well, like you said: the default user is 'root', and it has no password....
so just fill in 'root' as your username (wihtout the quotes) and an empty string as the password.

I tried it but nothing, not at all was recorded in my DB.

The same script i used in a remote host like tripod.co.uk and it worked perfect, so i believe that the installation kit i downloaded has some errors regarding database - php interaction, what else can i do?

Not at all!!!

I downloaded another installation kit with Apache Php Mysql PhpMyAdmin included, not the latest versions, but it works perfect!!!!

I solved all my problems!!!
