Ok
I've searched the web. PHP-sites, perl-sites, I've read articles about htaccess and user authentication through PHP. I guess i must be greener than I thought because after many many days in bottomless frustration I am no closer to my goal than before.
Basically, I've "narrowed" down this question to this:
How can i set a cookie to someone who logged in to a site with htaccess.
Or even simpler:
How can i echo the login-name from a guy that logged in with htaccess, on the page he logs in to.
Does the htaccess-login and password become a variable of some sort?
I've read through http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.variables.external.php but it didnt say anything about htaccess :-(
If someone has a clear and simple answer to this, it will make my life ooooo' so much easier.
