Substring issues...

Looking to check e-mail addresses for the same username under different sub-domains. (i.e. [e-mail], [e-mail]) Substring takes the rest of the HAYSTACK after the NEEDLE. I'm looking for it to go the other way to the begining of the string. Thanks in advance

dope, got the substring 'username@', now how do I create a query for it? All I need to know is how to get the sql to say TRUE/FALSE. It will be used as a comparison to make sure users in a specific domain can't re-register on my site. Thanks 🙂

EDIT: Tried this...

SELECT * FROM users WHERE SUBSTRING(user_email, 9) = 'username@';

to no avail... but I'm hoping you can see what I'm trying to accomplish...

here's that command incase anyone is looking around for something...

SELECT * FROM users WHERE INSTR(user_email, 'username@');

returns all occurences of user_email where the address starts off with 'username@'
