Images in a Database

I need to store images in a MySQL database in order to make them more secure. Too many people have access to all resources on the server, and I have no control to change this. Can some one tell me how to insert and retrieve images to a MySQL database using PHP?

Here you go I did it at one time but makes the database very large very quick.
