im just trying to get a phorum on my site, and it seems like i need to learn a whole library of info.

If you want to make a forum with PHP, get a PHP book.
There are a few PHP books that have a whole chapter dedicated on making a PHP Forum.

Also, if you go to hotscripts.com, you can get a forum made in PHP, I mean the source code, for free. And then customize it for your project.

where in hotscripts do i go? and after i have the source do i just cut and paste it to an html documnet?

hotscripts probably has a search section. Try searching for a forum.
The pages describing the forum probably have instructions.
You should follow the instructions that they give you.
If you don't understand them then get a book on PHP and read it.
If you don't want to do that, then read everything at www.php.net.

Yes, you do have to read a lot because it's not trivial stuff. People spend a lot of time on this stuff, and if you want to make something you probably should too.

yah i think i found a script i can use

i dont mind learning

but heck im just getting over HTML hehe
im a graphics guy
so this web stuff is second priority, but i guess since im going to be designing websites later i need to learn it
