Timestamp comparing

Hi All,

A very easy question (I suppose), but it has been bugging me most of the morning.

I am trying to compare a date in a MySQL database (standard date/time by timestamp setting: timestamp(14) ) with the current day / time. If there is a time-difference of more then 1 hour I want one option, else an other option.

Somehow I cannot figure out how to do this.

Can somebody please help me before I loose all my hair here!?

Have a look at the manual on the MYSQL web site.

Check for the following functions:-

DATE_ADD
DATE_SUB
NOW()

I am aware of the MySQL website, couldn't get any wiser from there though.

Not the adding one hour is the problem --yet--. I have a hard time getting the date from the database in a format that is usable in further routines.

Of course you can run a query on the database, and have the query return the data, but I have no clue on how to proceed from there.

Maybe any coding help for me?

Use sessions. they will store cookies on the server side not the client side and can work without cookies there is needed.

Have a look at the date_format function if you need the date returned from MYSQL in a specific structure.

if you are still stuck then please post again but with more specific information on exactly what you need and I will hopefully be able you help further then.
