Inlude in 'else' statement?

I am trying to have both an include AND some text in the else part of a conditional...

else {$iv2 = include('nospamblock.inc') || "text stuff" ;}

I can't seem to get the syntax right...

Help???

What exactly are you trying to do?

I don't think you can have an include statement on the right side of the = sign.

try:

else
{
  if(include("file.php"))
  {
    $result = "include was ok";
  }
  else
  {
    $result = "include was a failure";
  }

}

I am trying to work a conditional to display an include file (a no spam warning block) and a chunk of text.

I would think (given the correct syntax) that you could do an include AND a text string in the same conditional result.

then why not:

  $txt = "some text";
  echo $txt;

}

describe the task you are trying to perform and maybe I can give some better help.
