Uploading 700 MB file to Linux server using php

Dear,

I would like to upload large files ( around 700 MB ) to Linux Server using PHP or other sw compatible to PHP. The uploading status should be displayed with Progress bar and Resume Upload features. Can anybody helm me to find the solution?

I dont' think PHP is the right solution for that kind of thing.

My guess would be java.
