Flat file databases

Could someone point in the direction that shows you how to build a flat file database using text files.

I take it you know that a flatfile database severely limits your possibilities, and that databases liksq MySQl and PostgreSQL are free and readily available?

I know how to build a normal database using mysql and php, its just easier sometimes to use flat file databse for certain jobs. Do you know anywhere that shows examples

That's my point, just how much easier is it to write your own database? I think you'll find that you spend a lot more time writing the database functionality than you would spend writing queries for something like mysql. 🙂

There aren't many examples of flatfile databases because of this very reason 🙂

Thanks for your help anyway. You are probably correct, it will only take me 10 minutes to write thwe code and set up the table.
