Saving Email attachments to a server

I have a script that is currently running on my server which intercepts messages being sent into a specific address, it is piped to this through an alias in the aliases file.
What would I need to add to this script in order for it to firstly check for the presence of attachments to any email message
and secondly if any are detected how can these be saved to disk locally on the server that this is running on

well im not exactly sure, but a database would be required to store the url of that attachment.. an upload script of course.. which would be intergrated with the mail form of course..

then from there when uploading if the file input is blank amazing unlike other inputs it returns no....

so if its blank you'd need to check for no.. then that would be no upload otherwise upload etc.. i believe the rest you should be able to do...

The part that I'm not sure about is how to retrieve the email attachments from the email and place them into a directory on the server, does anyone know what header information I need to use to be able to strip out attachments from an email and then save them to disk

well if this is about people sending an email from a web form.. make the form do to actions.. 1) send the email 2) store that attachment..

What I am trying to do is to set up and email address which will strip out attachments as they recieved on the server.

I can find plenty on how to attach files to a form and then email them , my problem is that so far I have been unable to find anything that can tell me how I can save attachments to disk as they are recieved on the server.

What I am trying to set up is an email address where picture files can be sent to, as they are recieved on the server they are saved to disk from the email and the URL and email details are put into a database where they are queued up ready to be published on a web site.
