I have been charged with te daunting task of translating a website into spanish, with more languages to follow in the future. I have been mulling over a couple of ways to do this, creating an object, and letting it be the interface to different languages, or stuffing the strings into a database and pulling them out as needed.

I would like to hear from anyone who has implemented something of this fashion, how it worked out, speed, maintenance, etc.

If anyone has an absolute 'better way', by all means, im all ears.

I would suggest that you goto http://www.phpbb.com download the zip, and you can look at how they do it. I think that it works very well. You can open the DIR that is named language.
