HTTP + version 4.06

Hi,

I'm new to PHP and running off a server with 4.06 installed, the $GET $POST etc arrays aren't available..right ?!
so how do I pick up query string values ?!!

$HTTP_POST_VARS & $HTTP_GET_VARS sholud work fine
