'find and relace' on the server using php

Hello all,

Having some problems and hoping some of you php geniuses can help out a newbie. I have a comma delimited text file that is exported from a program and because of the way it's formatted I need to run a few things here in a row. I can do it all in wordpad and it works fine, but I'm trying to automate this for a friend who isn't too computer savvy. I'm hoping there's a real simple way of doing this. Any advice would be appreciated. Basically the order of events I'm trying to do is :

Open 2002.csv
Replace "" with ~
Replace " with nothing ie. delete all the quotes
Replace ~ with "
Replace ' with ft.
Save 2002.csv

Well how much php do you already know?? do you have the file open and close functions down??? if not start there, go to php.net and go to documentation, find fopen, and fclose, read about them and use them, then to replace the text, you will need to use the preg_replace() function, also read about it at php.net in the docs. You should be able to do it with out much trouble.
