Could not connect to MySQL.

I have added the user to mysql.user table, I know that the passwords match, I have tried deleting the user, using different names, but every new user that I try to add I can't connect through. What am I missing?

After you add the user with the correct password refresh the database server. If you are using something like phpMyAdmin it has a refresh server link in the same area that you add users.
