Trying to hide php code

Hi all... I recenlty completed a php script that enables a non web-friendly database to go online (using the new, msg_send & msg_receive function now in php v.4.3).
My only problem is this... I'm trying to hide code through apache. I'm trying to hide the code from the database developers who by this php file in a package to web-enable their databases. So is there a way to compile php some how? Is there any cool tricks that'll do the job? Thanks for you help,

Well there's a thing at www.zend.com they call an encoder. I've never used it but it might be what you're wanting.
