plz help: Union of two tables in Mysql < 4.0 (whitout union)

Hi there all,
I have to tables :

BSC_15_DAT
Id Int
nome1 char

BSC_60_DAT
Id Int
nome2 char

I need to build a temp general BSC_Dat table which contains all
the record of the first and all the records of the second which are not present in the first table.
A sort of UNION with no duplicates.....
but Mysql version < 4.0 have no UNION Syntax...
plz help me

use a LEFT JOIN.

First insert all the records from the first table, then do something like:

INSERT INTO temporarytable SELECT field,field,... FROM table2 LEFT JOIN table1 ON table2.field=table1.field WHERE table1.field IS NULL;

Notice that I have reversed the table order in the select, so that the second table is joined to the first.
