I'm trying to copy a file and here's the error:

Warning: Unable to create 'testing/yapp06.yapp': Permission denied in /home/bmod/public_html/yapp-hosting/index.php on line 4

Warning: Unable to create 'testing/install.php': Permission denied in /home/bmod/public_html/yapp-hosting/index.php on line 5

and I did chmod the upper folder to 777 hmm

well you need to chmod the dir that you are using, then make sure that the owner is the group that the PHP is installed under.

i would agree that you need to make sure your permissions are correct on the directories...

i can't see why this would fail above as 'w' should attempt to create the file... it must be a permission problem... maybe you did change it and some other piece of your code is chmoding it incorrectly from php...

also... why are you using the b extension on an html file... i think it was only meant to be used on binary files... the portability warning from php i don't think meant you should use it on all files everywhere, just on ones you consider to be non-text

And even then, it only makes sense on Windows machines, which have a silly idea about what constitutes a "newline".
