Creating superglobal

Is it possible to create a superglobal or to add one to (for example) the $_SERVER array?
I know i can define a constant, but I want a string to be accessable without setting it global in a function.

I believe the $GLOBALS[] array is fair game for that sort of thing.

I am aware of the $GLOBALS array, but I was wondering if it's possible to create a suberglobal without using $GLOBALS.

Something like:

define superglobal $var = "Hello world";

Well, then, I don't understand your question: what's the difference between putting it in $_SERVER[] or $GLOBALS[] (except that $GLOBALS[] is the one that was created for the purpose - all global variables are stored in $GLOBALS, and global $var is just syntactic sugar for $var = &$GLOBALS['var'];).
