How stable is PHP on IIS,
is it something you could afford customers?

After one year of use I say: PHP as CGI rock-solid, but as an ISAPI-module - forget it. All on IIS 5.0. Especially when we used Firebird / Interbase-access from scripts, they worked about a dozen times and then lamed the IIS-process, forced us to restart the service.

That would tell you how stable PHP is on IIS. In regards to security, I would say that it's better to run PHP as a module rather than as a CGI. If you put these two replies together, you may well notice that it's probably best not to run PHP on IIS. Although not as secure as when run on a *nix system, Apache on an NTFS system (ie NT, 2000, XP) is supposed to be fairly secure.

In addition to my first reply, I go in line with piersk and his security points mentioned. But unfortunately, some of us have no choice of OS due to pointy-haired bosses or other circumstances... :-(

Pointy haired bosses? Do you work with a guy who tried to catapult his computer out of his cubical so he could get a new one?
