majordom interface recommendations

Hey, guys!

I'm trying to create a php interface for creating majordomo mailing lists. There really isn't alot involved, and I know this should be easier than I'm making it. But, somehow my brain just can't figure out how to create folders and files without sacrificing security. I have tried to use backticks or exec() with majordomo's wrapper, but so far my attempts are fruitless.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Mack, you're trying to make folders within PHP? And the mkdir() command is too insecure? I'm not sure I understand the exact question.
