Php ->mysql install problem

Hi every1

I have just installed my first redhat unix box 😃
I have apache , php and mysql running, but the problem is that i dont think mysql support is enabled in php. Since i am a newbie at this, maybe some1 could help me solving this step by step??

Why do you think mysql not is supported?
Mysql has been "build in" since version 3-?
Anyway, at leest for all 4+versions

run following script

phpinfo();
?>

In the Result you can find the section "mysql"
There you can see if MySQL support is enabled.
Is it?

Which PHP Version? Did you install a php binary, or did you compile it? From where did you download it?
