go down directory structures (../ etc)

Hi,

This isnt really a PHP question but I know how good everyone is on these forums 😉

../ goes down one directory

1) but what does ./ do?

2) how could you go down to the first directory (e.g. from /one/two/three straight down to / without doing ../../../)

and 3) could anyone give me a link to a page with all these structure things on, if there are many more?

First: you do not really go down a directory-structure, but up (Heck, what's in a word!)

But I think you are looking for something like:

getenv(DOCUMENT_ROOT)
