Anyone know of a php class that'll get shipping rates from fedex?? I'm sick of screwing around with their API trying to get it to work. Now I'm having to install Java on my machine, just so I can get a simple rate from fedex. Blah.

Yes, I know about intershipper, but that is SLOOWWW. And now all of a sudden code that's been giving me fedex rates for weeks is now returning USPS (if anything at all.) So intershipper isn't an option.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, but I found that too. Unfortunatly fedex has changed everything aroudn since that was made and the URL is no longer in existance... there's another one that points to something like apps.fedex.com that also doesn't work. I may just be stuck with intershipper. It's a free service, and you get what you pay for.

The fedex api is just WAY to much overkill for what I'm trying to do. I don't want the world, I just want to feed it 2 zips and a weight and it tells me how much it costs.

The Fedex rate finder is down right now, but from what I have seen so far, they have changed the way the rate finder works. It does not seem to pass values via the URL any more. I have sent an email to their Tech Support, but I don't hold out much hope that they'll have an answer.

That's a good idea, Elizabeth. You might even want to create a script that automatically downloads those csv files every so often, so you can be sure you have the latest rates.

FYI, here is the response I got to my inquiry to Fedex:

        Dear Michael,

Thank you for your email to webmaster@fedex.com.

You inquired how you can get Rates from the FedEx web page, from your own website.

You are able to do this be downloading and installing a Plug-in from the FedEx.Com web site.

        Please follow these directions:
        1) Point your browser to www.fedex.com/us,
        2) Click on the <eBusiness Tools> link in the grey area,
        3) Click on the <all the FedEx solutions> link on the right hand side of the page,
        4) Click on the <Other Technology> link on the right hand side of the page,
        5) From the Plug-in to fedex.com section, click on the <Learn More> link.

You will have to register for Plug-in to fedex.com, but once this is
complete you will be able to download various FedEx Plug-ins.

I've been having the same problem, all my stores that use FedEx shipping have been unable to get rates since they changed their system on September 21st (I think that was the date.)

I've been searching for those CSV tables so I could revert to my old methods from before the major shippers were on-line but hadn't been able to find them on the FedEx site - I just kept going in circles on there it's so horribly organized. Big thanks for posting that.

If anyone ever manages to get something working with the official FedEx system I'd love to hear about it but all my attempts to get information from FedEx have been no more successfull than the post above - which does not answer any of the questions we're all having 🙁
