gd_ctx.c:70: structure has no member named `free'

Built gd-2.0.7 without problem
Tried to build php-4.2.3 using --with-gd but encouter...

gd_ctx.c:70: structure has no member named free'
gd.c:1014: structure has no member namedfree'

slackware 2.0.37
(yes i know it's old but i've grown fond of it 🙂
php-4.2.3 fine otherwise.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I've got exatly the same error. I install correctly GD 2.0.7
and after I try to compile PHP 4.2.3 and it returns an error.

Using:
- Slackware 8.1 (kernel 2.4.18)
- PHP 4.2.3
- GD 2.0.7
- ZLib 1.1.4

Weird, why does this happens, anyone has a clue?
Help needed.

I found the solution, minutes after this post! 😉

Just do search and replace on the files :

<compile dir>/php-4.2.3/ext/gd/gd.c
<compile dir>/php-4.2.3/ext/gd/gd_ctx.c

Search: ->free
Replace with: ->gd_free

This seems to resolve the problem!
