Login - proper session use

Hi,

I am working on sessions. Now I want users to be able to go to a login page. If go to the login page, while they have logged in already.. What is the best to do:

Log them out, and let them log in again, or should I just tell them they are logged in already, and give them the option to login under an other name? What would be the best way?
Any ideas? I realise the potential security issue at hand when you tell them they are logged in. But it is not user friendly to log them out..

Anybody any theories on this?

well, if the data in a given session is important, and you don't want to worry about making the system "multiple login" proof, or something, you could just check at the start of the page if they are logged in, and if so, gently direct them to the home page or something. I would imagine it has more to do with how your application is handling that session data.
