PHPMyAdmin

I have been trying to get PHPMyAdmin to work on my machine. I have changed the config.inc.php file like I was suppose to.

I directed the folder to http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/

I have LOCALHOST as hostname and put in the correct username, password and database.
But when I open the WinMySQLAdmin it tells me that my local host name is JAY-LAP which I have also tried in the hostname section of the config file.

I am not to sure what to do nextto get it to work, hopefully someone here can help me out with this. Also how could I change mysql's local host name to LOCALHOST?

are you sure your running MYsql on a standard port?

are you sure mysql is running?

WinMySQLADMIN is saying port 3306.

MySQL is defdinately running because I can make changes in dos promt, just can't get the phpMyAdmin to work

where does httpd.conf think the root web directory of apache is located?

I figured it out, it was something really stupid, but thank you guys for all the help. I am sure this will not be my last post on here LOL

well what was the solution.. please tell... if nothing else it helps people reading to figure out common mistakes...

The problem I was haveing was with the url for the pointing to phpMyAdmin folder. It was as stupid as not putting the backslash at the end of the url.
Like I stated, something really stupid on my part, which is usually the case with me LOL
