protect source of PHP-scripts

Dear PHP-script developers

What should I do to protect the source of my PHP-scripts to be read by others?

I want to prevent that people obtain the source code of my script

No, this is not what I mean. Quote from this hyperlink:

"The Zend Encoder allows developers to encode their PHP script before distributing it."

However, I do not want to distribute my PHP script. I just want to make sure that no-one can copy my PHP-script _while_it_is_on_my_site.

In other words, if someone else tries to obtain my PHP scripts, what methods can be employed to achieve this and how can I prevent these methods from being used?

unless they get into you ftp account...when u right click and view source PHP scripting isnt in there so don't worry

Theres two Possibilities for someone to get your PHP.. 1 of them is not just View Source.. Unless you put the <!-- --> tags in and have PHP in them View Source on the browser will not show it..

Now our two possibilities...

One is already mentioned and thats being stupid and giving someone your FTP information..

The other is not so pleasant and thats if a hacker/cracker
gets into your FTP account and goes and downloads all the PHP files....

Unless your some big corporation or a very well known person whos extremely good At PHP...

I Doubt that someone will goto that extreme..

So they either have to have my FTP login information, or they have to get into my FTP account another way. Alright, that's what I wanted to know.

Oh and never tell passwords to people..

If someone hacks your computer is another way..
Just make sure you dont save extremely important passwords on your computer. Never write them down on paper so that people can see them..

In other words be careful of what you do on your computer..

Otherwise pretty much you should be quite safe
