What are switches

I'm trying to install a mod on my BB & it says to set the switches, what are switches & how do you set them?

are flags - logical variables - set to either Yes/No, True/False, or 0/1.

Zero is usually off and One is usually on (just the opposite of Y/N or T/F)

Of course, there is also a switch statement in PHP similar to a do case statement in dabase that is supposed to eliminate all of the if/else statements... But I don't think that is what your BBS is asking for.
