Indicator to display uploading percentage

Hi all,

need your help.

The given scenario -
a user has to upload a very large file, 10MB. During the time the process take place to the time this process ends, an indicator would appears to show the percentage completed for the file to upload. How do i go about doing this?

As the file is not yet uploaded. there's no way of finding out the total filesize, what more, to indicate the percentage completed. Is there any way to display a popup box which appears when clicking on the "save as" button everytime we download something? or similiar stuff like that? for our case, the pop-up box would display the status for the uploading percentage.

This is driving me crazy. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

hmm dont think so there mite be away using flash but i doubt it

Well the only thing that will work is flash in our case. Other than that.. Just redirect the user to pages of your site.. Making sure that the browser stays open...

Maybe even if they try and close the browser disable anything that can.. but other than that your luck here is slim to get something like and upload percentage thing to work
