HELP - Passing variables to another page

Please help, I am trying to pass a variable from the url to all my pages.

It looks like this my url is index.php?se=google&st=money and I am trying to pass the variables from this url $se and $st to the next page and so on, but the problem i am finding is that when i click a link on the index./php page i lose all the variable sin the url, so i need to somehow store the variables and pass them along.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Try to declare this variables as 'globals'.

Ok brilliant, so if i place this <?php global $st; global $st; ?> in the top of all my files it will capture the $se and $st variables from the index.php?se=google&st=money and pass it through all the pages?

Rather than setting the variables to global, you could instead just use the $_GET array.

So for your example you could use $se = $GET['se'] and $st = $GET['st']

I prefer this method because it's not making the variables global so they stay local to the function you want to use them in.

But of course, either way will work so it's up to you to decide.

Brilliant thanks for the help, but i am still having problems, i managed to get the

<?global $yourvar;?>

And tour link must be
<a href="index.php?se=$yorvar&st=$yourvar1">

working, but couldnt get your example to work.

All i did was add this

$se = $GET['se'];
$st = $GET['st'];

to the top of all my pages...

Am i doing something wrong here???

I just use a Hidden field to store the variables. Then they are either passed automatticaly thru the form action or you can put them in the URL and pass them that way.

When using $_GET you still need to include the vars in the URL of the page.

Using the hidden form tag will also pass along variables, but when using PHP v4.2.x and greater (I think it's 4.2, might be 4.1) you will need to use the $_POST var to extract that information.
