compile PHP 4.2.3 + GD 2.0.8 with JPEG and PNG support

Under Solaris 8, I'm trying to add the Jped and PNG support for GD library.

There is a patch available under
http://www.boutell.com/gd/phppatch.html to compile PHP 4.2.3 with GD 2.0.8 (just came out yesterday)

I compiled and install gd_2.0.8 in /usr/local, (at the screen it says it supports libjpeg and libpng )

I compile PHP fine after the installation of the patch with :
./configure' '--prefix=/usr/local/php-4.2.3' '--enable-bcmath' '--with-apxs2=/usr/local/httpd-2.0.43/bin/apxs' '--with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql' '--enable-wddx' '--enable-ftp' '--with-gd=/usr/local' '--with-png-dir=/usr/local' '--with-jpeg-dir=/usr/local' '--enable-gd-native-ttf' '--with-xpm-dir=/usr/local' '--enable-gd-imgstrttf' '--with-freetype-dir=/usr/local' '--with-zlib-dir=/usr/local'

my PHPINFO returns :
GD Support enabled
GD Version 1.6.2 or higher
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
WBMP Support enabled

but still no JPEG or PNG support

Anybody has an idea ?

stupid question but what are the contents of your /usr/local directory?

Well a lot of reply from me but I finally got the problem solved !
caching was the problem !!!!!

rm config.cache and restart configure and it all works !
PHP should maybe add the delete of this file when you do
make clean

I've noticed that about a few programs, Apache being another. If I've been messing with compiling something and its not working I just blow away the dir and untar/gzip it again and run the configure command
