Whats the best way?

To upload scripts? I want to upload scripts such as .php, .asp, .html, and so on. But I am not to sure whats the best way to do this. I am thinking either using a database or uploading the file itself. Have any ideas?

Well personally, my favourite has always been FTP 🙂

This is by far the easiest way to do it. You dont say though how you want to go about it. If you want a web front end, then uploading a script is the same as uploading any other filetype (with the exception that you can get away with different enctypes in the HTML form).

If you give a bit more information, then we can probably give you a bit more help 🙂

Basically users are going to upload scripts to my site. But I am not to sure how that will work since the file types will vary.. I am thinking I can used the file functions php has and then turn them into .zip file.. do you think that would work? or could?

i dont know about .zip but you should look at the gz functions at php.net they make .tar.gz commpresion, also dont use a database to store files it can become very slow

Well, you could look at each file as it comes in, determine what type it is, and treat it appropriately - including whingeing to the uploader if the type isn't recognised at all.
