1) How do I make PHP not case sensitive when it's checking unencrypted data from a database (i.e. it recognises KITT and kitt as the same thing)
2) I want to get a user's date-of-birth from the database, and use that to find their age. How should I do this?

1) I think there is some function that converts text to small or big letters.
2)The present year 2002 - birthyear = age

Not so simple, what if they haven't had their birthday yet this year? You could do that really easily with timestamps, I can't remember off the top of my head what the function is but it'd work fine.
