Database Transfering?

I am currently trying to tranfer all the contense of my database some one sever to another. But since the database is so large it will not let me save the data file. I would like to do it in PHP but I cannot figure out how to. Each database has a different username and password so I am very unsure of what I can do.

what database server are you using? and how large is large? also what have you already done in an attempt to export the database and how was the out come?

I just want to know where you left off so that we don't cover the same ground!

Hav u try of using ODBC to convert a database to another database

I am using mysql in both cases and the database is atleast 400,000+ rows and I believe over 300mb in space.. I have tryed using the phpmyadmin functions to save it to a file but no go.. and using a PHP file but the file usually does a timeout after 30 seconds...sigh

loggin through the console and use the mysqldump database program. You can check out the mysql website it goves example.

How would I go about doing this. I have never used mysqldump.
