CURDATE messed up!

When i set CURDATE() in creating a record, i get this:

For example, today (not date format i know im btritsh 😛)

28/11/2002 00:00:00

Thats from CURDATE()

I want CURDATE() to either give me:

The Date only! 28/11/2001

And what will give me:
the Date AND the time: 28/11/2001 20:09:00

Also.

From 28/11/2001 20:09:00 how can i get all of the records which:

The Feild "Last Visited" (28/11/2002 20:09:00) is less than ten minutes ago from now?

would the only way be to array it with $date=28/11/2002 and then arraying the time, and some how getting that time within ten mins? i dont know how to with time as it doesnt follow the conventional 0-100 pattern, as its 0-60

Easiest to hold date in database recs as timestamp then it gets set automatically when the record is inserted.

To format it as date

$date_str = date("d/m/Y", $timefield);

with time too

$dt_str - date("d/m/Y H:i:s"$timefield);

Time held in seconds, so

select fom table where last_visited > time()-1060
